I walked in and got in line.

I walked up behind a young, pretty girl in the McDonald's line. I waited.

I glanced back at the person behind me. I looked back at the menu.

I waited behind the girl. I was feeling a tad awkward for some reason...

When it was my turn, I ordered a small mocha frappe. I stepped aside for the next person to order.

I leaned forward and asked for one order of everything on the menu. I smiled sheepishly at the cashier. I handed her two fifty dollar bills and told her to keep the change and waited patiently. After about five minutes of waiting, I got two huge trays piled high with food.
"Here you go, sir." said the cashier.
"Thank you, Ma'm." I replied and tossed her my best smile. I grabbed the trays, one in each hand and balanced them carefully. I brought them to a table and began to unwrap a cheeseburger.

"Holy crap." I said quietly when he ordered. I got my frappe and went and sat down.

I noticed the girl eyeing me. I smiled. "Hey, do you want some? There's plenty." I chuckled.

Finally, my curiosity got the better of me and I left my table for a moment and went to sit down at her table. "I'm Kendall." I smiled awkwardly at her and held out my hand. "What's your name?"

When she held out her hand, I noticed the fiant, silvery pentagram on the palm of her right hand that all Nephilim were branded with at birth. So she was a Nephilim. Maybe that's why she seemed so familiar, just another lonely outcast, a forgotten soul hidden in the streets of New York. I continued to smile. I would have to be sure that she wasn't part of the Grigori. But, then again, a Grigori member wouldn't have time to go to McDonald's.
"So," I asked, "Do you live here in New York?"

There was a light fixture above us whose lightbulb had gone out. To freak her out, I looked up at the light. "That could use some fixing." I snapped my fingers and allowed a new stream of electricity to begin flowing through it, resulting in a glowing, good-as-new light fixure that I seemingly fixed with a snap of my fingers.

"Guilty..." I smiled sheepishly. I held up my hand and showed the silvery pentagram on my hand. "So... are you Providence or Grigori...?" I asked. I waited on the edge of my seat. If she was Grigori, I would need to run.
